A Gatsby inspired Garden Wedding

What does a beautiful secluded Kentucky Manor, classic garden, fresh local food, and plenty of bling equal? Only our most glamorous wedding to date. Taken straight out of an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, the wedding of Michael and Matt at the majestic Wendell Cherry Highlands private home was one to remember.

The ceremony was intimate and immensely personal. The Grooms, each dressed in their 3 piece finest, complete with platinum sequin shoes, escorted each other down the aisle to Jazz musician Todd Hildreth’s rendition of Nat King Cole’s L-O-V-E. A poem written exclusively for the grooms by their friend Wendell Berry was read along with personal vows in front of 100 of their nearest and dearest. Tears were evident everywhere as these two finally became one. It was a family affair as some of Matt’s siblings led the two in their marriage vows. Each Groom was attended by a Best Lady, who led the two in a celebratory Champagne toast as soon as the “I dos” were said.

Immediately following the ceremony the party began. 300 additional guests joined in, many dressed in their Derby Season finest. Hats, sundresses and seersucker were everywhere. Masterson’s provided a fine southern picnic feast, complete with locally sourced burger and brats freshly grilled on the estate’s lawn. As guests finished eating they were handed Mint Juleps. The Grooms stood and raised their glasses to toast as “My Old Kentucky Home” was performed by 15 members of Voices of Kentuckiana. 3 additional musical acts followed and the night quickly spiraled into a full on dance party led by the amazingly talented Kim Sorise.

The grandeour and decadence of the day is one that only could happen here in the Grooms' Old Kentucky Home! Only here does southern traditional mesh so well with glitz and glamour! Michael and Matt, we here at Ina Marcella Events wish you both all the best and were honored to be a part of your amazing day!
