Friday Finds - Farmington Flea

September 1, 2014

Six days each summer, the historic and beautiful Farmington Plantation transforms its grounds into a unique antique market. While there are several summer flea markets in the Louisville area, Farmington Flea is a special experience. There is something different about discovering a diamond in the rough in the shadow of this Federal style home where Lincoln once slept.

However, antiques aren’t all that you can find at Farmington Flea.  Local crafters are dispersed throughout the antique dealers, many of whom provide “after” inspirations for older pieces you might have already picked up. Delicious food trucks gather at the rear of the space so you and your family can truly make a day of it.

We made a day of it last month and, like nearly everyone else we observed, we didn’t leave empty handed. For the last couple of months we have been working on furnishing our new office space. And as soon as we saw the colorful welcome signat the Cowgirl Antique booth we just knew we had to have it. We negotiated a price with the cowgirl herself and walked away with this amazing statement piece for our office, as well as the belief we truly got it for a steal! As we basked in the glow of our find we coveted many more pieces and even found a few things for each of our homes. All in all the day was a great success. You can visit Cowgirl Antiques in Lexington.
