One of the things I love most about Louisville is the opportunity to experience something new and exciting. Louisville Magazine's first annual Swig was just such an event. Ina Marcella Events was thrilled to be apart of this Gatsby-esque shindig and make it a sensational event. The Brown Hotel provided a glorious backdrop of architecture and ambiance for the incredible set up of over 40 local businesses. All were thrilled to participate in celebrating the day prohibition was repealed. We had food vendors such as Joy Luck, BBC, Cellar Door Chocolates, and Loop 22. Drinks were provided by Four Roses, Monkey Shoulder, Meta, Old 502 Winery, and many many more. Formé Millinery Hat Shop displayed gorgeous hats and head pieces while Gentleman Jack created an entire room for gentleman to learn how to tie a bowtie and even get their hair cut. Not to mention free swing lessons by swing dancers from New Lou Swing Dance Community and live music from Billy Goat Strut Revue. Swig was filled with all types of people donning their own stylish interpretation of prohibition era costumes. It was an evening filled with laughter, food, drinks, and fun. Take a gander at these great photos provided by one of Louisville's top food bloggers Elizabeth Myers!
